Matthias says that he is operating mostly on muscle memory and that he is not thinking theoretically while he is playing. He uses theory during his practice session to come up with approaches but during 'play time' he is letting it al flow out
Do you ever reach a plateau in your skill level?
Matthias admitted that is something that we all struggle with and that somethings he wonders "is there anything else to learn." That is until he stumbles on to one of Jarrell Man-Man Little's videos. So, the point is, you can always stretch yourself and grow
What is your background? Who did you study?
He says that he took classical piano for about ten years and studied under the "Altino Brothers." He said that he mostly learned by ear listening to various jazz and gospel musicians
